A Common Grackle in a Spring Snow

Grackle in a Spring Snow

April 20, 2017

A Common Grackle visits in a early Spring snow storm. Photographed with a Canon 7D Mark II with a Canon EF 100-400 F/4.5-5.6L IS USM lens handheld. I also like the detailed water drops dotted on the bird.

Perched - Female Northern Cardinal in Snow

April 8, 2017

Spring. Snow. Blah!

Upstate New York has been experiencing an unfortunate amount of cold and snow late in the Winter and early Spring after a rather mild and dry Winter. The upside is the weather has made for continued "birds in snow" photography moments. Above, a female Northern Cardinal is perched on a Butterfly Bush branch waiting for an open spot at the bird feeder while the snow falls.
