Perched House Finch in Winter

House Finch in Winter

March 3, 2018

Black & White conversion of House Finch

More snow in upstate New York. This has been a yoyo Winter with snow followed by a warm-up that melts the snow, then more snow. Overall it has been a productive Winter for photographing the birds. This weekend we had a visit from a few House Finches among the Juncos, Chickadees, and Cardinals. There were also a few Starlings that I caught a glimpse of, but I did not have my camera with me.

Photographed with the Canon 7D Mark II and the Canon EF 100-400 F/4.5-5.6L IS USM lens handheld, I was able to capture these birds perched in our Butterfly Bush with the snow in the background. The color images were post processed in Adobe Photoshop CC with Luminar and the black and white conversions were done in Tonality CK within Photoshop.

Thanks for stopping by today!
