Dark-Eyed Junco in Winter

Dark-Eyed Juncos in Winter

December 30, 2017

Dark-Eyed Junco in snow

We get plenty of Dark-Eyed Juncos visiting during the Winter months. For a rather plain looking bird at a distance, they have subtle coloring upon closer inspection and they always seem to be willing to strike a pose or two. Over the past several weeks, I captured a number of images of the Juncos in the snow, falling snow, and ice. Some of these images I have converted to black and white also.

All images here were captured with the Canon 7D Mark II and Canon EF 100-400 F/4.5-5.6L IS USM lens handheld. Post processing was done in Photoshop CC and Luminar. The black and white conversions shown here were done in Photoshop using a black and white layer.
